High the Azore<br \/>\nIn einem der gro\u00dfen Klassiker der Nautischen, ja der Weltliteratur schreibt Joshua Slocum:<br \/>\n&#8222;Early in the morning of July 20 I saw Pico looming above the clouds on the starboard bow. Lower lands burst forth as the sun burned away the morning fog, and island after island came into view. As I approached nearer, cultivated fields appeared , and oh, how green the corn! Only those who have seen the Azores from the deck of a vessel realize the beauty of the mid-ocean picture.&#8220;<br \/>\nIn der Nacht haben wir Flores passiert. Nur die Lichter waren zu sehen, der Rest der hohen Insel blieb in der Dunkelheit verborgen. Jetzt haben wir noch etwa 80 Meilen bis Fayal. Zora l\u00e4uft hoch am Wind. Auch diese S\u00e4tze von Slocum w\u00fcrden zu uns heute passen:<br \/>\n&#8222;The day was perfect, the sunlight clear and strong. Every particle of water thrown into the air became a gem, and the Spray, bounding ahead, snatched necklace after necklace from the sea, and as often threw them away&#8230;&#8220;<br \/>\nDer Skipper hat nochmal die Segel getrimmt, das Unterliek im Gro\u00df aufgemacht, den Kl\u00fcver etwas dichtgeholt, den Traveller eingestellt&#8230; So sollten wir gerade unseren Ansteuerungspunkt auf der S\u00fcdseite der Insel schaffen. Wenn der Wind nicht einschl\u00e4ft, wird das irgendwann am fr\u00fchen Montagmorgen sein. Also werden wir das wundersch\u00f6ne Bild nicht sehen, das Slocum in seinem Buch &#8222;Sailing Alone around the World&#8220; beschreibt. Trotzdem freuen wir uns auf das Land und auf das Bier, das der Skipper gleich in kaltstellen wird, damit wir es nach unserer Ankunft trinken k\u00f6nnen.<br \/>\nEs ist schon ein bisschen unheimlich: Wir befinden uns hier genau in der Mitte zwischen Portugal und Neufundland und um uns herum sieht der Atlantik aus wie die Ostsee <a href=\"https:\/\/phonelookupbase.com\/region\/Northern-Mariana-Islands\">Northern Mariana Islands find phone<\/a> , naja von der Farbe des Wassers abgesehen. Die Welle ist weg, es bl\u00e4st mit 3 bis 4 Beaufort aus S\u00fcd und nur eine kleine Windsee l\u00e4uft uns entgegen. Der Himmel ist blau und das Meer.
